Harry Potter Math​

Fractions II: It's your first year at Hogwarts school, and you must use all you know about fractions in an imaginative potions class with professor Snape! Prime numbers, square numbers, greatest common factor, lowest common multiple, equivalent fractions, simplifying fractions, comparing, multiplying, and dividing fractions!  Only these will help you succeed on your final potions examination.

Farmer Boy Math

Arithmetic III: Dive into the story of Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder!  Through the lens of the farm we will cultivate our understanding of:

the twelve times tables, place value, the zero times table, multiplication and division with ten, numbers into the millions, division with remainders and regrouping.

Our work on the farm will include all four arithmetic processes

and bushels of practice translating word problems into math sentences!

Some poetry copy work in the theme of the farm is also included in this block.

Spelling Time

Practice the top 150 most misspelled words in the English Language using the Funschooling workbook of the same name.​​​​

Spring Gardening

Harvest plants from winter, plant seeds and starter plants, tend the garden, keep a journal.​

Ancient Chinese Shelters

Study the cultures and building structures developed in Ancient China, from the stilt houses of the hot, humid south, to the yak fur covered yurts of the freezing Tibetan plateau.  Create a journal with drawings and writing to record what you've learned.  Build mini shelter models of a yurt, stilt house, clay cave dwelling, and Hakka house!
